It is very hard to be a Police Officer in today's society. Law Enforcement is constantly under ridicule and under a magnifying glass in this country.
Law Enforcement plays a major role in our society. Police Officers are normal people just like everyone else. They are mothers and fathers, husbands and wives, sons and daughters. We as a society forget that Police Officers are human beings. There are countless numbers of good Police Officers all across this country that put on a uniform, go to work every day and put their lives on the line to protect the citizens of our communities.
Just as with any profession, there are a few bad apples out there, and due to the lack of funding, training, inexperience, and or other underlying issues, these few brings a negative mark on Law Enforcement as a whole.
Today's media plays a great roll of Law Enforcement. We are living in an age today of social media, where some of society craves negativity. There is too much negative being put out in the news, and on social media pertaining to things, that occur in our community. No one seems to be interested in a good deed being done by Law Enforcement or even anything positive in reference to Law Enforcement. The role of the Police is to enforce the laws enacted by our elected representatives who are selected by a majority of the voting citizens. In a Constitutional republic such as ours, it is expected that the police enforce those laws justly and without bias. The overwhelming majority of the Police in 21st century America do just that.
A Law Enforcement officer is tasked with maintaining law and order, responding to emergency situations, protecting and serving the public, sometimes at the cost of their lives.
*Violence is plaguing today's society
Mental illness plays a major role in our society, which sometimes leads to, Bombings, mass shootings, and terror attacks. It's sad that these topics have been embedded in our brains as a society and as a world. These topics have plagued the media today. As these things are happening nationally, there is a more prevalence violence happening on a daily basis right here on a local level that is plaguing our communities that seems to be somewhat over looked and even accepted by society as being a normal way of life. In the communities, and inner city neighborhoods there are shootings, burglaries, robberies, assaults happening at a high number rate. Murders and gang violence, has grown to staggering numbers.
Law enforcement can't resolve all of these issues alone. Society itself is also responsible. Communities, churches, civic leaders, all share a responsibility and need to get involved. It is a shared venture between law enforcement and these groups to help resolve these issues and take these communities back and make them a better place. We must work together in order to restore order within our communities. Shared responsibility is the key to being successful.
Video games, music, and television all play a major role in the level of violence today. A very high number of today's popular games, songs, and television shows are all about killing, shooting and nothing but violence.
We are living in a world today where private citizens can't totally rely on law enforcement to protect them and their families anymore. This is why citizens are granted the second amendment.
We are living in a world that seriously needs god’s intervention. It needs the prayers of everyone. It needs "GODLY" men making "GODLY" decisions.
Next time you are out in the public and you see a police officer. Go up and speak to that officer, introduce yourself to that officer and thank them for their service. You don’t have to wait until law enforcement week once a year. You don't know how much they will appreciate that and exactly how much they need it.
